RIDER BIO

I first discovered SUP in 2008 while on a surf trip to Hawaii and it has shaped my life ever since. I am a Blu Wave Team Rider, Certified Paddle Canada Instructor & PaddleFit Pro Head Coach for Blu Wave SUP Academy. I have been racing for Blu Wave for 6 years, earning the ON Woman’s Overall Series Champion title in 2017 & 2014 and the Woman’s Elite Champion title in 2017, 2016, 2014 & 2013.

I competed with Team Canada at the International Surf Association World SUP & Paddleboard Championships in Denmark and the PASA Peru Pan American surfing games in 2017. I raced the 18.8km distance & 3km technical and team relay earning the 2nd highest points of our team of 9, helping Team Canada place 16th of 42 Nations. In Peru I came in 10th in the 5.7km Technical race and was proud to help Team Canada earn 4th overall.

I have also competed in SUP Surf at the Tofino Paddle & Surf Championships in 2016 and at the Eastern Surfing Association’s 2014 Northeast Regional Surfing Championships in New Jersey, winning the West Shore Lake Huron Fresh Water Classic in 2014 & Gails of November in 2013.

I coach children to SUP and incorporate SUP racing with both the campers and my fellow coaches for the Olympia SUP Challenge at Olympia Sports Camp. Threw volunteering at Aloha Toronto, I have the opportunity to paddle with kids on the autism spectrum creating a connection that is very special. My own son Kai first joined me on my race board at 2 months old; now at age 3, we competed together in his very first SUP Race this summer.

I also organize the Blu Wave Paddle 4 the Cure fundraiser, raising over $60,000 since 2015 for breast cancer research. I am proud to be among the first woman to cross Lake Ontario with SUP4MS in 2012.
I believe that the ISA will bring SUP racing to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and I plan to be there.
