2026 Canadian Shortboard Champions Crowned at the Rip Curl Nationals in Tofino, BC

The 19th edition of the Rip Curl Nationals brought Canada’s top surfers together in Tofino, British Columbia, for a weekend of world-class competition, community, and celebration of Canadian surfing.

From rising junior athletes to seasoned veterans, competitors showcased exceptional talent across eight divisions, competing for national titles and the opportunity to represent Canada on the international stage. Held in the waves of Cox Bay, the event once again highlighted the strength and depth of surfing talent from coast to coast.

Surf Canada extends its congratulations to all of the 2026 Rip Curl Nationals Champions and finalists. The level of performance, sportsmanship, and dedication displayed throughout the event reflects the continued growth of surfing in Canada.

While the podium results represent the culmination of months and years of training, the Rip Curl Nationals are about far more than competition. The event continues to bring together athletes, coaches, families, volunteers, judges, partners, and supporters from across the country, strengthening the Canadian surfing community and inspiring the next generation of surfers.

The 2026 event showcased both established champions and emerging talent, demonstrating a bright future for the sport in Canada.
