Surf Canada Announces Dates for the 2026 Rip Curl Nationals Canada
Surf Canada is proud to officially announce the dates for the 2026 Rip Curl Nationals Canada, the country’s National Surfing Championships and Team Selection event.
The competition will take place May 8–10, 2026 at Cox Bay in Tofino, British Columbia, bringing together Canada’s top surfers to compete for national titles and qualification opportunities within Surf Canada’s high performance pathway.
As the premier competitive surfing event in Canada, the Rip Curl Nationals Canada serves as a key milestone for athletes pursuing international competition. The event will also act as the official Canadian qualifying event for the ISA World Surfing Games, helping determine the surfers who will represent Canada on the global stage.
Over three days of competition, athletes from across the country will compete in shortboard divisions, showcasing the depth of talent within Canada’s growing surf community.

The GromSearch divisions will provide an exciting opportunity for the next generation of Canadian surfers to compete and gain experience in a national-level event environment.
Cox Bay in Tofino, located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, has long been one of Canada’s most iconic surf destinations. Its consistent waves and stunning coastal setting make it an ideal location for the country’s national championships.
Registration for the event will open March 16, 2026.
