Surf Canada’s National Team Announced for 2025 ISA World Longboard Championships
Victoria, BC. (April 8, 2025) — Surf Canada announced today the four athletes selected to represent Canada at the ISA Longboard World Championships taking place April 25-May 1, at Playa El Sunzal, El Salvador.
Team Canada will look to build on its performance at last season’s Longboard Worlds at the same location and where Canada’s Liv Stokes had her best ever 5th place result, and just one step off the podium.
Canada’s 2025 Longboard World team is led by two athletes returning from the 2024 LB World team including, Liv Stokes, her 4th ISA World LB, and David Schiaffino’s 3rd. 2 rookies round out the Team, Carolyn Day and Rusty Goyer, and all will be competing to improve on ’24 Team Canada’s ISA result.
“ISA Longboard World Championships is such a cool event, and I am fired up for this group of athletes who have earned the opportunity to measure themselves against the world’s best,” said Dom Domic, Surf Canada’s Executive Director.
The 2025 ISA LB Worlds team is made up of four athletes who qualified for the National Team through a merit-based selection criteria that considers WSL results/rankings and results at Rip Curl Nationals Canada.
